    • Yes, I do put 8 frames in 10 frames hives for deeper comb. I had beautiful cut comb from 2 hives and harvested almost 4 gallons this summer. In Texas it has been extremely hot and this only allowed for one honey harvest. Leaving the rest of the honey – and there is some – for my bees to eat over the winter. This is my first year at beekeeping – like you – but I started in March. I’m up to 6 hives already. It’s a wonderful hobby and the sweet reward – priceless! Thanks for stopping by.
